Our Commitment

The cost of living is too damn high. We will utilize all available tools at our disposal to reduce the cost of living and enable the people in our city to live and thrive in the city they serve.

Housing

Create a Tenant Protection and Enforcement Office

The city needs a department dedicated to ensuring all residents are cared for and accounted for. How many families have had to deal with scumbag landlords price-gouging them or illegally evicting them? Too many. That needs to end, and that’s exactly what the T.P.E. is going to do.

The city needs a mayor who will defend and strengthen rent stabilization across the city. If homes are too expensive, and rentals are too expensive, nobody will want to live here. This needs to be treated with more priority as well as urgency.

By California law, we can’t freeze rent. Yet. What we can do is keep rent increases at the absolute minimum legally allowed.

The T.P.E. will provide counsel for every tenant facing eviction. We cannot and will not, in good conscience, allow people to be evicted from their homes by landlords who care more about money than people. Tenants city-wide will be provided with resources to evade eviction.

Preston takes the harassment that tenants have had to endure very seriously. We refuse to allow more illegal evictions in this city, and the T.P.E. will now take all the necessary legal actions to prevent it from happening.

Los Angeles needs to prioritize building affordable housing even faster. We’ve gotten too tangled up in red tape and bureaucratic bullshit. People need homes. Affordable ones. And they needed them years ago. No more delays.

We will convert city land into permanently affordable social and supportive housing. We need homes that are dedicated to serving the residents of the city, not greedy corporations or greedy landlords.

We are committed to cutting bloated approval timelines down as much as possible. Importantly for people who have lost their homes to the fires, as they have been trapped in a purgatory of legal complications, keeping them from returning home, or being forced to return home too early.

Affordable, Healthy Food in Every Neighborhood

Fund community-owned grocery co-ops in underserved areas

Grocery co-ops are community-owned grocery stores that prioritize people over profits. Supporting these co-ops and ensuring they are available not just in undeserved areas deemed “food deserts,” but throughout the city, is the most important step towards ensuring every resident has access to affordable food.

Mobile markets and neighborhood food hubs should be encouraged and expanded upon to ensure that no matter where somebody is located in the city, they can always access fresh and delicious food.

All large new developments are required to ensure that affordable and fresh food is accessible in the area.

Homelessness

Create clear accountability for housing placements and outcomes

In our yearly reports, every elected official is to be held accountable for housing placements and the outcomes.

Los Angeles will continue to work with motels and hotels to be used as temporary housing for unhoused folks.

We have far too many unhoused individuals to have so many empty and unused buildings. We plan to utilize as many unused and underused city buildings as possible.

Permanent and supportive housing built on city land must be expedited. We have too many resources at our disposal for the city to have so many excuses.

Childcare

Free or deeply subsidized childcare for low-income families, essential workers, and families experiencing homelessness

Our government wants citizens to have more children, yet it makes it entirely unaffordable to do so. We want to make childcare more affordable because having children should not be a luxury. Residents should not have to struggle just because they want to bring children into the world.

Free Buses and Fast, Safe, Reliable Transit

Make all city bus services fare-free

By making city buses fare-free, we hope to encourage more public transit use and lower transit costs for residents

More bus-only lanes citywide will decrease the time it takes for buses to reach their destinations, increasing the incentive to use them and reducing commute times.

Services are designed to be fast and free, aiming to reduce congestion in the city

Whether you ride the bus, train, bike, or scooter, you should be able to easily and safely reach every corner of the city. We intend to fix and connect existing transit networks to make this possible.

Public Saftey

Department of Community Saftey for non-violent mental health and homelessness calls

Trained civilian responders will respond to non-violent situations such as homelessness and mental health calls. Far too many times has the LAPD responded to these calls with violence. We are long overdue for a change.

City budget that would’ve gone to police overtime can now go into community services such as the civilian responders who will be addressing non-violent calls.

We will have unarmed responders ready 24/7 to respond to mental health crises. These people need compassion, not more violence.

We need more mental health programs and violence interruption programs to ensure the people of our city are taken care of

Clean the Air, the Soil, and Build Green Infrastructure

Use green infrastructure to combat air pollution

Air pollution has become a major problem in our city. Using nature, we will be able to effectively combat air pollution and make the air cleaner for everyone. We will use tree canopies, native flora along streets, and more greenery incorporated into city buildings.

Los Angeles is supposed to be a beautiful city of creativity and productivity. To help encapsulate that, we will be integrating more plants into city buildings to bring more life into the city. But they’re not just there to look pretty; they also add to the productivity of this city by cleaning harmful pollutants from the air.

Too many areas of this city have been neglected for far too long. We cannot and will not allow only certain areas of the city to have clean air. Areas most affected by air pollution will be prioritized first.

An interesting way to combat air pollution is through photo-catalytic concrete/coatings. Essentially, what it does is it breaks down harmful pollutants in the air when exposed to light. We plan to pilot some programs using this technique in high-pollution areas.

Los Angeles has become too reliant on fossil fuels. We need to push for more reliable and renewable energy sources. Expanding solar and battery storage in the city is crucial to lessen the city’s reliance on non-renewable resources.

Small Buisnesses

Cut fines for small buisnesses

Small businesses are the lifeblood of this city. It’s us the people, who keep it moving. We shouldn’t be fining small mom-and-pop businesses; we should be fining the ultra-wealthy.

A Real Sanctuary City

Fight ICE on the legeslative level

The city voted to become a “sanctuary city” for immigrants in 2024. We need fewer symbolic gestures and more action, however. ICE is still kidnapping and, in some cases, even killing Angelenos. ICE has no place in this city. If the city did more to prevent ICE operations in the first place, many residents would still be here. And some might still be alive. If you’ve seen Preston at protests, then you know firsthand that he stands with you.

In 2025 Los Angeles City Council voted to become a “sancturary city” for LGBTQ+ folks as well. Like we’ve said before, we need less symbolic actions and more real action. Attacks on LGBTQ+ folks will not be tolerated and will be combated however we can.

For a city called “The City of Angels,” there sure doesn’t seem to be a lot of them left. We want to fundamentally change the culture of Los Angeles. Too many folks don’t care about each other anymore. Many people don’t even say “hi” or “hello” or “hola” to each other. They’re just looking at their damn phones. Preston wants residents to build more community with one another. We need more events and gatherings. Too many of us don’t even know our neighbors’ names anymore. Residents need more encouragement to engage with each other. From volunteering together or just hanging out at the park, we need community now more than ever.

What Preston Will Do Personally, Independent of His Duty as Mayor

Donate 25% of every paycheck to black-owned organizations that are dedicated to improving local black communities

. They’ve been given the short end of the stick in this city for far too long. That needs to change.

In addition to continuing his volunteer work, he will now live-stream it so that citizens can hold him accountable by allowing them to see him putting in the work in real time.

Accountability. The city doesn’t seem to have it anymore. Preston will have yearly independent and non-partisan reports done on city officials and the work they do. All of our elected officials, myself included, must be held accountable for their actions.
